Acer palmatum
A relatively rare cultivar, Nishiki Gasane has sunago fu (sand dusted)yellow variegation on green leaves with toothed and twisted lobes. Often the yellow begins the season as soft peach. Some questions exists as to whether this is synonymous with Sagara Nishiki. While there are admittedly similarities, Nishiki Gasane seems prone to more yellow with more pronounced yellow whole leaves. Both are fairly tender and need protection from hot sun and drying winter winds.
