Samidare

Acer palmatum

About

Mentioned in the list of cultivars from 1882. The name translates to early Spring rain. Remarkably large that are creased through the center of each lobe emerge in Spring. Cooler Springs allow a soft pink to briefly show before changing to a pleasing green with reddish edges. The Fall is where this cultivar shines best, with blends of color - mine typically is shiny lacquered purple.
