Acer japonicum
This is a beautiful japonicum variety. Leaves are larger than Aconitifolium but not quite as finely cut. The Summer green foliage holds up really well to the brutal heat here in Nashville, and OH the treat that awaits in Fall. Gorgeous yellows and oranges and even a bit of peach work their way in this beautiful tapestry. The name translates as warmly, and these beautiful Fall colors warm even the coolest crisp Fall breeze. I find japonicum varieties extremely rewarding and consistently reliable growers here in the South. I feel if more gardeners saw the rewards in the Fall, there would be a japonicum variety in every yard.
