Katherine Havemeyer is a tremendous double flowering fragrant lavender French lilac. This was introduced in 1922 as a product of the breeding work of the Lemoine Nursery in France. It is named for Katherine Havemeyer, the wife of T.A. Havemeyer, a prominent American horticulturist and lilac enthusiast that established massive collection at Cedar Hill in Long Island.
